Time away and Kix

Colleen watched Simon from Thursday to Sunday so Alan and I could have some time away. It was amazing trip for us with lots of relaxing and reading by fireplaces, some board games and even rock climbing! We for the most part had our phones away or off and ignored everything that wasn't a Simon update - which we got daily from Colleen. Thank you again, Colleen, for giving us such a wonderful weekend!

Simon and Colleen had a great weekend together. He was really well behaved for her the whole weekend. They ate spagetti squash, played in the park, read lots of books and generally had a great time.

Good Morning.

Lots more pictures to catch you up and a video of eating breakfast this morning after the jump.

Night Night with the big blanket is still a many times daily game. He asks for it by saying: Big on!
The thing on his hip is a little cloth bag. Simon plays a new game with some plastic eggs.
The eggs are rolled across the floor and he goes and picks them up and puts them in his bag.
CHEESE!
Off for a cup of coffee with Colleen and Jenn.
A beautiful day on Saturday, so park time was on the agenda!

So nice to slide.
18 year old Simon says hi on Sunday.

Here is a video of breakfast this morning.  Simon's got Kix in the green bowl with milk, the red bowl has blueberries. It was the first cereal with milk experience.  There was some confusion about it being ok to eat blueberries with your fingers but not ok to eat Kix (which are about the same size) with your fingers when they have milk on them - you have to use a spoon. Kix sort of stick together, so spoonfuls were often way too big so it took some work on his part to get appropriately sized bites. But he had a blast and seemed to enjoy it. This was the third bowl of Kix (we had pretty small servings) so he's not quite as focused on eating as he was before, still he finishes off his bowl and asks for more.
