Lillian on a morning walk - saying birds!

Lillian is almost a year and a half (just 3 weeks shy) and she is a communicating machine. She has been amazed with her recent forays into the outdoors and LOVES birds. We dropped Simon off at school in the morning and then she and I took our time walking down the sidewalk to get home. Here she is saying Car, Birds and making her hysterical surprised face.

PEANUT BUTTER FOR EVERYONE (except Alan)

The current American Pediatric Association's guidelines if there is a close family member who has food allergies is to get a scratch test at an allergist at around a year old. We are a little late for Lillian, but it was the soonest we could get an appointment.  Lillian was awesome in the waiting room waiting for the doctor. The scratch test was done on her back with 10 items and a pin prick for each one. She didn't cry but got progressively more annoyed with the nurse who was pricking her (totally understandably). We watched her back closely while waiting the 15 minutes for the results to appear. There was one big hive appearing and Alan and I worried about what she was reacting to - trying to figure out which thing she was allergic to and plan the rest of her life without it. When the nurse came she told us that the hive was just a control to make sure she could make a hive at all - so...

RESULTS: NO ALLERGIES!

We are still introducing things slowly just to be extra cautious, but she is very unlikely to have a reaction to anything. She had peanut butter that night.

Waiting patiently in the room.

But he's very proud that he did it. He said his name is very very long

Photos from Simon's Classroom

Simon's teacher does a blog daily and I have pulled out some of the pictures from the past couple months so you can see them.

Learning about magnets.

Much to  her disappointment, Pearl is not magnetic.

Author came by to sign books!

Simon is under all those books on the left.

Making a yogurt parfait for a friend's birthday treat.

Story time.

Ahoy!

Practicing making pizzas - sequencing and counting.

Eating with the class.

First Warm Weekend - March 2015

Even though we are all have a little cough we are taking advantage of the spring weather! We went to the zoo on Saturday morning and saw the new snow monkey exhibit (which is amazing) and we even got to see the Lion up close and Sleeping. We got to play baseball in School Park with new friends and had corned beef for dinner (with roasted carrots and baked potatoes - not really authentic but delicious!). Sunday we had corned beef hash and then went for a long family walk and a play in the park. The afternoon we turned the dirt in our garden to prep for our summer garden - I'm ambitious this year. We are going to try to grow from seeds tomatoes, peppers, peas, eggplant and cucumber. Then hit Burrito Park for a quick swing and slide before heading to Burrito House for dinner. Rounded it out with a Simon hair cut (too late for pictures, I'll post one later in the week). What a weekend!

Hello Sleeping Lion!
First train ride of the season!
I put her on the bridge and she held on for dear life.
Edging slowly and carefully off the dangerous bridge.
Not very exciting of Lillian but you can hear Simon SMASHING the ball toward the end of this:

Lillian ate her whole dinner with a fork/spoon. She was so proud of herself!

Sharing a doughnut from a food truck.
I like doughnuts.

I like doughnuts too.
Guess who is a spider?
Found someone at the park to play soccer with!
Prepping the garden while Lillian naps.
After Nap - she had a small mishap tripping and catching herself
with her face/pacifier gave her a skinned upper lip.
Asked for a nice smile and actually got one!
Jenn and Jessica met us at Burrito House for dinner.

This week's Photos

Poor Daddy got a shot.
Lillian is very worried about him - and his band aid.
Running outside! To pick up Simon from School.
Love the PARK!
It's bright, but she loves sitting on every bench.

Walking with Jessie.
She stays like this at least 30 seconds.
Getting herself ready to go outside.
HUG!
Checking on Simon before we go to bed.
Little man turned on every light upstairs except his own (which has a cover).
Hanging out in the morning.
Waiting for Jessie in the morning.
