Simon's First Baseball Class

Simon had his first Baseball class on Sunday. The session is a Christmas present from Grandpa Bart and Grandma Kiki and we went to show him the place while they were in town. He was so sad to leave then and so happy to come back on Sunday. We got there a bit early as I thought we'd have some paperwork, but they just went ahead and set him up throwing into a hoop while he waited for the rest of the kids to arrive. One of the kids in his pre-school class, Ryan, is in this class with him. They were adorably next to each other the whole session. He had a blast!

They actually have set things up really well. They have a group of kids hitting at a T and then another, separate group just behind where the pitcher would be. When the kid batting swings he runs toward a line of cones (first base line) and runs through a finish bar that has been set up. At the same time, when the batter swings the kids in the outfield take that as go and grab a ball and run up and throw their ball through a red or blue hoop. It gets the motion of the game without having to depend on the skillset of the other kids.

Practicing throwing with a coach pre-class.

Kid hit ball, Simon is in back running.

Hanging out with the coaches before class started.

Warm up.
So many parents were in the room with the kids. Simon and Ryan both were fine without us.
I talked to Ryan's dad much of the class.
