On the Saturday before Easter Alan, Simon and I decorated Easter Eggs. Simon was marginally interested but I was pretty excited about it. We ended up with 12 dyed, 2 died a very squished death as Simon explored what would happen when he squeezed it too hard like Mama asked him not to. And that was so fun he did it again. Alan and I got better at the signs, you can see in the video the two thumbs close together and the look of focus come over his face.
After dying we put stickers on the eggs (see video). Then we had a long naptime with no sleeping and lots of singing to puppies and kittens. Alan then wisely suggested that Scooters would be a perfect afternoon treat to keep us moving and not grouchy. He was very right. We had a slow, relaxing walk down to Scooters - Simon touched everything we passed that Alan would let him. Then we had our ice cream and even stopped in at the library and read the first page of about one thousand books. Then we headed home and our little man passed out at bed time. It was a great Saturday.
Focus.
Touching Brick. Touching Glass.
Library had bins of books that were perfectly Simon Sized.
