Kitchens, Bathrooms and more

The house is SO close to done I can taste it. Tiling and painting will finish in the next day or two. Then waiting for the glass and the plumber to finish up the faucets and we are in soon!! Goal move in date is next Friday, but this weekend we'll be doing some initial wiping down of the inside kitchen cabinets and getting furniture and bookshelves set up. Follow the jump for pictures.

Backyard and garage is obviously still in progress. This is the biggest and most obvious thing left to do.If you look closely you can see the more dug out areas will be bricked and the rest will be grass.

Our lovely kitchen. There is cardboard on the counter tops to protect, but the first coat of paint is on the walls. A pale, very subtle green.

Simon's bathroom. The window is trimmed in marble (an extra thrown in from the contractor) because wood would eventually get yucky.

Simon and I are standing where the toilet will eventually go. Note the hardware on the doors is installed! And obviously the mirror is in too! And there's a glimpse of the shadow box on the left for bath stuff, with the same marble on the bottom as the threshold and window trim.

Master bath vanity is in place and the counter top just went in and the door hardware. Mirror will get put in when the shower door comes. They'll measure for that early next week when the tile is done getting set in the shower.

Master bathroom shower! The granite for the seat and threshold is in (same as the vanity top) and Larry is finishing up the wainscoting tile in this picture. He'd just set the back wall earlier that day (Thursday) and hopefully today (Friday) will finish up the rest of the shower and will do the grouting on Saturday.

Master Bedroom has a built in window seat with storage. The tops of the seat are out because it's getting painted, but eventually I'll make some cushions and lots of throw pillows and then snuggle in here for some afternoon light and reading. It'll be so cozy!
