First Plane Ride - Boston

On the Fifth of October Simon took his first plane ride! Like always he was fantastic. For the full story follow the jump.

I was nervous about packing for the little boy and was trying to be reasonable, but we still ended up bringing an entire suitcase (carry on sized) of blankets, burp clothes, onsies, hats, toys, and sweaters. Alan and I split a second suitcase (which was a bit smaller than Simon's). We rounded out the luggage with a Phil and Teds Travel crib, boppy and back pack filled with carry on stuff. Since Britni does not drive a stick, we took the bus to the train to the airport. Simon just hung out in his wrap and watched the new sights on the trip out. He didn't sleep at the airport, too many great things to see! We unfortunately had seats at the back of the plane, but got on early and got settled. Simon eats around 5 usually and we were scheduled for take off at 5:30. To keep his ears from hurting, we were going to nurse on take off. Unfortunately Simon didn't want to wait the extra time for dinner so we fed him a little early and again at take off. Then Simon curled up and slept the whole flight. I bugged him while we were landing to make sure he was sucking on the pacifier. If it weren't for my poking, he surely would have slept through the bumpy landing. He was happy baby again when it came time to debark and he waited patiently for luggage and the Grandparents Basque!

The Grandparents Basque got their very own car seat last week and kindly are letting Simon use it for the weekend. Simon has been babbling up a storm and giving his grandparents big smiles as a thank you.

There will be lots of family visits this weekend and more pictures in following posts.
