Apple Picking at Apple Holler
Auntie Colleen, Emily, Simon and Lillian went to Apple Holler again this year. It was probably the best trip yet. Not that it wasn't fun before, but both kids were so very into it this year and we got to stay a little longer (skipping nap) and as a result got to see a whole section of the place that we hadn't seen before. Lillian recognized the goats as goats (last year she thought they were dogs) and loved that they licked food off her hand. We saw a pregnant goat - when Simon tells the story he clarifies that while the baby goat was in the mama goat's belly, she did not eat him. Simon led us through a corn maze, both kids road a pony, we saw muddy pigs and mostly clean chickens, rode in an open wagon, listened to musicians, and the we even picked apples (a bit).

Simon takes over Attendance at School
SIMON TAKES OVER ATTENDANCE
It's official. I told the kids that I am too tired when I do attendance, and that I won’t be doing it anymore. Fortunately, someone else stepped up to the plate to lead the class through our morning routines. Thank goodness Simon was able to help us figure out which friends were at school, and which friends were still at home. To be honest with you, I have a feeling that I am going to be too tired to lead attendance from here on out. Don’t you worry, there were a lot of people volunteering to take over the job today.
CHAMPS BOARD CHAMPIONS
In fact, it seems like I am giving up my responsibilities left and right! Here you can see Nahuel, Everett, and Simon putting the CHAMPS board together. They figured out how we needed to behave in order to do our best during attendance. Thank goodness for the help that these kids give me or I may not make it through they day!

Lillian playing with Water beads
Ms Zairel and the Pre-K class had waterbeads in their sensory table and when they got rid of them on Friday asked if any parents were interested in taking some home. I took all the leftovers this morning and Lillian has spent the past 30 minutes playing with them. Picking them up, dumping, bouncing and generally feeling them.
