Scooters with Breanne - the Pee Incident

Saturday afternoon Breanne awesomely came by to hang out in the back yard for a bit and then walked to Scooters with us. Since Lillian had been playing in the water she had her swim diaper on - which is less absorbent than a normal diaper. Unfortunately when we popped her in the wrap and headed out no one thought of that. I wore Lillian down to Scooters in the sling and Breanne volunteered to wear her back home. Since Lillian had been playing in the water the sling was bit wet from the trip down. On the way home Alan left us to grab dinner at Whole Foods, so it was just me and Breanne and the two kids. 

We got to the Paulina Brown Line Stop when Breanne started to say something like 'I think she might be peeing' and I looked and saw a stream of liquid coming off the bottom of the sling and Breanne moving her hand out from underneath it.  *sigh* Lillian had peed all over poor Breanne. Luckily we weren't so far from home and Breanne was an amazing sport about the whole thing. I think I will owe her MANY more ice creams before this one will be lived down. 

Note to self: make sure to change out of swim diapers before heading to scooters in the future.

Summer day in the backyard

My very favorite part of summer days is playing with water in the back yard with the kids. Last Saturday was full of chores, but we managed to squeeze in some play time. In fact, as the leather arm chair was being moved to the garage we stopped and just sat in it and lounged while the kids played. It was a great time and made even better by a visit by Breanne. (more about that in another post). I brought out the real camera (that we got from Kiki) so there are a TON of pictures after the jump.

Camera Testing

Kiki gave me her old camera that is about a million times better than our phone cameras that we normally use. Here is me trying to figure out how to use it. I didn't add all the pictures of the rug and walls that I accidentally took. 

Mr Fix-it

Simon and I went for a walk around the block and the little man took a screw driver, pliers, wrench and some screws with us. We stopped many times to fix things. 

Sunburns from the beach

My little munchkins got sunburns when they were out at the beach last week. We did aloe all weekend and they are almost gone now but that first afternoon they were quite pink!

4T-5T Socks for my 3 year old

When Simon was 6 months old I went out to get him socks. I was a newby at baby clothes and accidentally got 4T-5T socks instead of 6m-12m. Whoops. At the time I thought that it would be *forever* until he was able to fit into them. Guess what? My boy has the biggest feet. Wish I have a picture of his foot next to those socks when I bought them.

At 3 years and 2 months, Simon wears 2T shorts, 3T pants if they have the pull waists and we can pull them as small as they can go. He wears 3T shirts and 4T-5T socks. 

Burrito Park - Monkey bars and swinging

I took both kids to the park on Friday afternoon and Alan met us there.  Simon went over and tried the monkey bars on his own while I was pushing Lillian on the swing. I snuck over and snapped a picture. He also tried a bunch of the climby things. So glad he's getting some confidence to try this stuff without us there! 

Then he came back and helped push Lillian on the swing before swinging on the big boy swing with some help from Daddy. Who doesn't love a quick trip to the park!
