Simons First Board Game

Gaga brought Gamewright's Skunk Bingo for Simon to play as his very first board game. He loved it! Grasped the rules fairly quickly and especially loved spinning the spinner. We are definitely going to need to start doing game time with him.

Grandparents Basque Visit and Nature Museum

Ken and Cindy arrived on Friday and on Saturday we had a blast at the Nature Museum.

Ken is mobbed!
Avoiding the mass of kids around the reptiles until she's a bit bigger.

Horned Iguana.
Simon had no fear of this snake.

Hanging with the turtles!

Because I Said So!

Simon, I think you have officially entered your "Why" phase.

Why is it official?

Because as of last weekend you have started asking Why in response to pretty much everything we say to you

Why do I say that?

I think partly because you're genuinely curious about things, but also because it's a good way to get attention from us

Why is it good for attention?

Because we are always answering your questions

Why do you always answering?

Because you ask a lot of questions now

Why do I ask questions?

I just told you a minute ago.  Don't you remember?

I don't know do you know?

Yes I do, I'm the one that said it

Why did you say it?

Because you asked me a question

Why did I ask a questions?

Simon!! ... go ask Mama.

Lillian's 4 Month Well Visit

We visited the doctor today for Lillian's 4 month well visit. She is 50% for weight and 50% for height. The doctor said that Lillian is a very healthy, happy baby - which we knew! As soon as the doctor came in Lillian started talking up a storm and Dr Perlman kept laughing at how vocal she was the whole appointment. Literally any time either of us started to talk Lillian joined in. The doctor was very impressed by how well she was standing and said she looks strong with her pushups. She confirmed that Lillian definitely has the strength to roll over, she just has to figure out how to make all those muscles move together! Dr Perlman also confirmed Lilly's sudden love of a drool covered chin is the result of teething, but sadly couldn't feel any teeth coming through (I thought I felt some, but apparently it was wishful thinking). Doc said it could be months before we see anything breaking through, which did not make me or my slobbery Lillian very happy. Lillian took her 4 month vaccines with a whole lot of tears since she was both sleepy and hungry when she got the shots, but a bit of food fixed her right up. I expect her to sleep well tonight because the vaccines really take it out of her. Maybe we'll get a whole night sleep! (Trying not to hope for this too hard!)
