Some Lillian videos

Here are a few more Lillian videos that were taken last week.  Nothing very exciting in these, but it's fun to just see her being happy and alert and wiggly.

Feeding Little Sister

Simon helped me give Lillian a bottle last night.  He's been a great big brother lately.

Growing Smiles - Simon's First Dentist Appointment

On Saturday afternoon Simon and I walked to Southport, over mountains of snow and through deep snow-melt puddles to Growing Smiles, the home of Dr Ashley the Dentist. About half way there we had a small slip that resulted in Simon on his back in a big puddle, not hurt, just very very wet and dirty. Happily he didn't care one little bit because I didn't have a spare outfit for him and Alan couldn't easily pack up the baby into the car to drop off a new pair of pants.

When we got to the dentist's office Simon went immediately to the play area to play. I had planned for us to arrive about 20 minutes before our appointment time so he had a chance to get acclimated to the space. He had some time to play, but they pulled us in early to the appointment. They were very efficient and we were out of there, happy and cavity free by 1:15.

Welcome Stacey!!

Stacey has joined the family as our Tuesday/Thursday nanny! Jenn still spends Monday/Wednesday/Friday with us, but she needed to reduce her days so she can fit in all her classes now that she is a full time student. Stacey spent Friday with us and she fits in great. Not only is Stacey wonderful with Simon and great with Lillian, she's also an actress and comedienne! Next month she is doing a Children's Puppet Musical that we are very excited to go see. I'm sure you will all meet her soon and if we are lucky you will see posts from her occasionally as well!

Helping out

Simon is getting a little more used to his little sister. He still doesn't like is when she cries or is very loud, but he has some solutions. When she cries he usually tells us one of the following: 1) Lillian is Lonely (capital L lonely); 2) Lillian is hungry, you should feed her; 3) Don't nose suck her. Recently he learned the pacifier can help and so when she cries he tries to pat her leg or bell and says 'don't cry, it's ok' and 'come here' and then he tries to give her a pacifier. He is a great big brother.

She loves those birds as much as he did!

Yet another snow day.

On one of the very cold snowy days we made a car wash for Simon's new matchbox cars. Soapy water in one tray and baking soda in the other. When that got boring (after 30+ minutes) we dumped some vinegar in the baking soda tray and the game was almost new again (another 15ish minutes of play!). Bonus is that all spills actually helped clean the table and floor.

A few pictures of Lillian at the end holding up her head.... look at that neck strength! She is very advanced for her age!
