Pasta for dinner, Sauce for face

I made pasta sauce last night. Simon loved it and made a huge mess. Part of being a kid! He would stab a noodle with his fork, then pull the noodle off with his hand to put it in his mouth since the noodle never went into his mouth right when it was on the fork. 

Play, Little Bit?

During dinner Simon and I were talking about what we were going to do after dinner and I told him he was going to bed. He looked at me and he said mama play? and I said no, go to bed. And then he looks at me and said mama, play, little bit? I cracked up and caved-in because it was just too cute to resist. Not the best precedent, but we negotiated 5 minutes of train play before bed time.

An Engineer Outfit from Auntie Colleen

Colleen got Simon an engineer costume for his birthday gift. His Birthday Party theme this year will be trains and he will be dressed to the nines for it thanks to his Awesome Auntie. We tried it on this weekend to make sure it fit and we decided it was the cutest outfit he's had on in quite some time.

Reading about trains with Grandpa and Grandma Sweeney

Grandpa and Grandma Sweeney were in town this weekend. We finally took the family pictures that was Dad's birthday gift from Colleen and I last fall. When Jenn gets them ready we'll post some here. 

For all the pictures that got taken this weekend, these are the only ones I got of Grandpa Bart and Grandma Kiki with Simon. He was usually running around like the little energy ball he is and they were chasing after him while I was napping. Which worked great for me (feeling very rested!) but not so great for the number of pictures that came out from the weekend. We had a wonderful weekend though, good food and decent weather.  Alan even got to take a nap while the Grandparents played with Simon on Sunday - everyone was happy.

Auntie Amy - better resolution

For some reason the post of Auntie Amy and Simon wearing the same Boston Hat came out grainy, so those pictures are below. Also there are some pictures of them at the butterfly room in the nature museum. So many things to look at!

Downtown and handholding

Last week Simon and I took the train downtown to see the river. We looked out the train windows, waved at people, repeated all the stops, ate a snack by the river, saw a goose, AND didn't even take a stroller. Held hands the entire time! Big boy Simon :) and on Thursday (which is our weekly playdate day) we went to the park with Kyla, baby Kinsey, and Joanna! So much fun.

Haircut by Bailey

Bailey is Jenn's roommate and a professional kids hairdresser. She kindly came by the house to cut Simon's hair in preparation for family pictures this weekend. He got to watch tv while she cut his hair, which is why he looks a little zoned out.
