Removing Wart from Warty Toe - First Surgeon Visit

We went in for our consultation with the plastic surgeon today. We all got there a bit early and so Simon and I showed Alan the fire engine. The boys got in a good 15 minutes of play in before we had to go down for our visit.

Simon was a rock star, as always. He was patient with all the measurements and talking to the nurses. When the doctor came in he remembered some of the questions we had talked about on the ride over and for the past couple days.  After the appointment the nurse brought us into their offices and on top of the shelves there were tons of toys and games that had been donated for the kids with appointments. Simon honed in on the basketball immediately! He asked the nurse to catch and they played for a while - until finally we tore him away. The whole way home he talked about how awesome his basketball was.

Surgery is scheduled for December 5th.

We thought this was an old disconnected phone and that Simon was talking to himself so we let him play.  Turned out it was a direct line to the registration desk.

Look Dad! A fire! GO FAST THAT WAY!

Happily getting his blood oxygen level taken.

Breakfast out, Lillian tries cold milk

Simon had hot chocolate (in an expresso cup) and Lillian laughed and laughed while Alan tickled her. Then she tried some cold milk. She was undecided and drank the first couple times it was offered and spit it out the second time.

Warty Toe Checkin at the Children's hospital

Because of the weird location of the wart on Simon's toe (partially under his toe nail), we've been going to a dermatologist at Laurie's Children's Hospital for checkups while using a topical wart remover. We went today for a checkup and found out two things:

1) There is a really cool fire engine in the hospital. A real engine that got cut into the right size and then hauled up onto the 12th floor by crane! The kids can climb all over it and press all the buttons which really make noise and flash lights (but no siren, it is a hospital). There was even a tree top overlook that let us see down to the lobby below. Simon was more impressed by the fire engine.

2) He will need to have his wart surgically removed because it's not responding to the wart peal we've been doing. We'll see a specialist later this week - a plastic surgeon.

He and I took the opportunity of us being on Michigan Ave to go to the Lego Store and play a bit.

Seeing if he could play with the ball from the statue kid. He couldn't get it off.

Lillian's Hand Eye Coordination

Lillian is getting quite dexterous! Here she is putting blocks on the counter bar things.

Here is yesterday morning, just Lillian walking around and hanging out. Nothing really special happening:
