Auntie Lisa meets Lillian

Lisa was in town the past couple of days for a work conference, and happened to be staying in a hotel just a couple blocks away from the hospital.  So when Lillian was born early on Tuesday morning, Lisa was able to come by before her meeting started to say hello to her 4 hour old niece.

Welcome to Lillian Mae Basque...

We would like to announce the arrival of our little girl!!!

Lillian Mae was born at 3:59 this morning. She weighs in at 6 pounds and 10 ounces, is 20 inches long, and is doing great - had a grip on daddy's finger within minutes. Mama is doing well and we are going to be in the hospital getting to know each other better and remembering how to change infant diapers until Friday. Keep your fingers crossed that daddy gets the poopiest ones!

Simon bought breakfast

We went out to breakfast with Auntie Lisa on Sunday and Simon generously offered to pay.  Here he is signing the credit card slip

Look at his grip on that pen!

Tyler's 2nd Birthday

We went to Tyler's 2nd Birthday party at Jump Zone today. It is a bouncy castle party place and was a ton of fun. Below are lots of pictures of Simon, Tyler, Karmen and Alan all playing in the bouncy castles. Then pizza at a local place afterward. When we got home I turned on the backyard lights while Simon and Alan were still coming up and Simon said 'WHAT!?' and ran to a light. Apparently he hadn't realized what they were for before since he'd never been in the backyard in the dark.

Simon liked the car better than Tyler opening presents.

Yum, cake.

Cind-umbrella

One weekend afternoon back in September I needed to do some chores around the house so we had to find a nice quiet easy way for Emily to watch Simon for a while.  They ended up snuggling on the couch and watching his first full movie: Cinderella.  He watched some of Shrek with the Delaney boys during the baby shower in August, and he occasionally watches an episode of Blues Clues or Sesame Street with us, but this was the first time he was able to watch a movie from beginning to end.  Unsurprisingly, he loved it and kept talking afterwards about "Cind-umbrella".

It was probably 80 degrees out that day, but Simon always wants a blanket when snuggling with Mama
