Furry Little Brother

Simon met his furry little brother while we were in Arizona. Kiki was super patient with my nervousness and we took the meeting very slowly. There was a lot of somber staring from Simon while he tried to figure out why this baby had so much hair on his face. Frankie has had experience with babies... he knew that they have great potential to drop food so there was lots of sniffing (does he have food?, does he have food?). Frankie was even willing to do his tricks (shake!). Unfortunately as Simon got more comfortable he didn't start feeding Frankie, instead he wanted to touch that amazing beard. One tug was all it took and Frankie started giving Simon a buffer zone. Frankie was much much faster than Simon this trip. Next year there is going to be some serious fun had by those two - Simon will probably love feeding Frankie and I'm sure Frankie won't mind being on the receiving end of the food one bit. By then Simon will have learned that beards are not for pulling. Or any hair for that matter - dogs or mamas!

Thanks for taking all the pictures Kiki!

Serious staring.

Simon: Can I touch the hair on his face?

Frankie: Shake? Food?

Bye Bye!

Simon learned to wave goodbye! The sideways one is the best, but I don't know how to make it not sideways. He did it first by the couch as Jenn was walking out the door... We were amazed and so excited! Then we pulled out the phones to start recording (always thinking of you!). I think he got a bit sick of waving goodbye after a few times - we did not get sick of it. It is so adorable!

Cribbing

*sigh*
My son has started cribbing. Colleen and I had a mini revelation when we realized that maybe that was the root of the horse type cribbing. Why would you chew on wood? At least you can now be sure that he has four VERY SHARP (though now I suppose slightly less sharp) teeth - even if our pictures aren't great yet.

Our poor, bored baby did this in a matter of maybe 10 minutes
after waking up from his afternoon nap this week.

We've resorted to tying a blanket on the crib
and have dropped the mattress to the lowest setting.
You can see the fun new decorations on his walls though!
