Saturday at RoscoeBooks

We got a local bookstore! I'm so excited! I dragged the kids, Alan and Jenn (who was visiting) out to their grand opening. It was a fun day and we all got new books!

First we checked out the digger at the end of our street.
At RoscoeBooks, Jenn and Simon are reading on the bench.
Lillian is so excited!

Lillian - all over the place.

Things Lillian knows (13 Month)

After she turned a year I figured I would stop the monthly updates on Lillian, but I was so amazed at how much she learned this month and how much she knows in general that I couldn't resist one more monthly post.

  1. Lillian has 15 signs: More, all done, hungry, banana, clean (aka wash hands), drink, banana, diaper, book, milk, hot (blows on thing), blows kiss, waves, please and thank you.
  2. She has 10 words: Hi, Mama, Dada, shoes, socks, Go, Si (for Simon), See (for Jessie), Ph (for up) and of course dog.

Middle of the night...

Last night Simon walked around the bed (past Alan) and woke me up at 3 o'clock in the morning to look me in the eye and tell me 'I want daddy'. Sigh.

Lillian eating

Blocks and dancing with Lillian

Lillian has had a rough couple days with four of her molars coming in. She is sleeping poorly and generally hurting, but she still loves to dance! She also loves the phone, so many of my pictures are blurry because as soon as she sees the phone she makes a dash for it. She will often come up and pull my phone out of my pocket. I'm not sure what she plans to do with it when she gets it but she knows that she wants it!

Who cares about blocks now that there is a phone here!
You are making me sit here, I will get that phone.
I am watching you, lady.
Whew! Now I get to see my lovely face close up!

Removing Wart from Warty Toe - First Surgeon Visit

We went in for our consultation with the plastic surgeon today. We all got there a bit early and so Simon and I showed Alan the fire engine. The boys got in a good 15 minutes of play in before we had to go down for our visit.

Simon was a rock star, as always. He was patient with all the measurements and talking to the nurses. When the doctor came in he remembered some of the questions we had talked about on the ride over and for the past couple days.  After the appointment the nurse brought us into their offices and on top of the shelves there were tons of toys and games that had been donated for the kids with appointments. Simon honed in on the basketball immediately! He asked the nurse to catch and they played for a while - until finally we tore him away. The whole way home he talked about how awesome his basketball was.

Surgery is scheduled for December 5th.

We thought this was an old disconnected phone and that Simon was talking to himself so we let him play.  Turned out it was a direct line to the registration desk.

Look Dad! A fire! GO FAST THAT WAY!

Happily getting his blood oxygen level taken.
