Guess who loves to read? Lillian!

For the first time yesterday, Lillian brought a book up to me, turned around and sat in my lap expectantly ... waiting for me to read it to her.  It was so wonderful! She did it to Alan and Jessie for the first time yesterday as well. I think she is officially another Book-Loving-Basque! 

Building on that new development, this morning Lillian signed book to Alan as she brought the books him, of course dropping them all along the way. After dropping the books, she sat and read one before collecting them up to get all of them and herself across the room to Daddy for him to read them to her.

Simon was climbing yesterday when I went to pick him up from school. He was up and down this thing about 10 times before I finally managed to get him to head home with me.

St. Andrews Anual Book and Bake Sale

St Andrews has an awesome book sale every fall. They sell paperback books for 25 cents and hard covers for a dollar and they have a HUGE kids section. We've greatly expanded our collections in the past couple years and did so again this year.  Here are some pictures of the kids with their hauls. 

By far the most favorite book so far is Lillian's puppy book (in her hands in the pictures below). We've read it about a million times. She flips back and forth and says dog over and over. 

Simon read almost all of these books with Alan on Sunday morning. 

Couldn't even get him to pretend to look at me. 

Alan read about 75% of these to Simon while Lillian and I went upstairs to take a nap.

She loves it so much she can't help but lick it.
That's what you do with your favorite things too, right?

Lillian the Magpie

My little magpie has started carrying around everything she can hold while she goes on her walking tours. This is extra hilarious when she has just one too many things in her hands and she attempts to juggle them all or when she gets excited about something and she just drops everything to wave her hands in the air.

As a bonus, here is a video of her saying dog. She said it when we went for a walk this weekend and the lady walking her dog was impressed she said dog so clearly! So that is definitely the first word understood by strangers.
