Fathers Day 2014 was the day after Simon's 3rd Birthday Party and 2 days after Wrigley Field Family Day. We were all pretty tired. But we really wanted to do something special for Daddy. So we took the train down to Old Town and went to see the Cat in the Hat Story Time at the Old Town Art Fair. Simon totally loved it. Then we went to the Spice House to restock and then headed home (with a quick stop for gelato). A good day!

Wrigley Field Family Day
The Cubs do a Family Day at Wrigley Field every year and this year, as season ticket holders, we got to go. Colleen, Joe, Alan, Simon and I (and we had one extra ticket). Jenn stayed home with Lillian, which was definitely a good idea since we were on our feet the whole time.
I thought it would be fun, but it totally exceeded my expectations. We all had a total blast. Ran around on the field, played catch, touched the ivy, walked through the dugout and the batting cages and press box, met the owner and of course met Clark, the Cubs Mascot. We will definitely be going back next year.

Morning at CBA
I woke up to this at 4am. Simon was up by 4:30.
After fighting with them for an hour to go back to sleep I gave up and packed everyone into the car and went out to breakfast at CBA (Chicago Bagel Authority). Not as good as Safari Cup (still miss that place) but a decent substitute. Simon was super well behaved and Lillian was totally thrilled. We might just be going out more often. If everyone is in a good mood next time we might even brave the train!
Simon didn't want me to take pictures of him so I snuck him into the background.

Grandma and Grandpa Sweeney's June 2014 Visit
Grandpa Bart and Grandma Kiki came to visit for a long weekend and as always it was a great time. I took Friday off work and Grandpa Bart, Colleen, Simon and I went to a baseball game. The rest of the weekend we spent in the backyard playing with the water table and just relaxing. Oh, and there might have been some baseball played. Grandpa Bart and Grandma Kiki know their little grandson well and got him a set of his very own bases for his early birthday present. The *entire* weekend the first and only thing he wanted to do was play baseball. Anything else we did was pushed on him... Grandpa clocked about 100 hours as pitcher and Simon is hitting better than ever. We even got his glove on him and he is starting to catch - or at least not get hit by the ball every time. Lillian is a much happier baby than the last time Grandma and Grandpa saw her and Kiki especially loved the growling conversations.

Emily and Simon in the morning
On my birthday Simon and I took some selfies... just me, him and his new flip phone. (which he got for free at a garage sale, it has no cord or charge.)
Lillian funny sleeping positions
We are starting up sleep training again and while I'm really looking forward to having her sleep trained, I really hate the sleep training. Good part is that she is really starting to sleep better at night.
Yes, she is sleeping with her arm in the air.

Good weekend!
We had a great weekend. We got a watertable for the kids, so there were many hours of water play. Lillian stood and watched Simon and chewed on toys. Simon was very careful with her and though he complained a bit about her slobbering on the toys, he was very good about understanding that it was a shared toy.
We also had a great night out with Colleen and Joe on Saturday night. We'd been wanting to go to fondue for a while, bonus that the weekend we were all free was my birthday weekend!
She sure loves her brother.
Eating all the pancakes.
She likes sitting sideways, I just could not get her to face forward
Lillian was laughing up a storm as she swung. Sadly to hear her giggles you have to also hear my very loud boo. (PS her shirt says "stop texting and change me"
