Lillian 2 Week Well Visit

On Tuesday, November 5th we took Lillian to the doctor for her 2 week well-visit. Lillian is also seeing Dr. Meryl Perlman, who has been Simon's doctor since he was born. We totally love her and have found her to be a great pediatrician. She saw Lillian in the hospital, saw her at the one week visit and then again at the 2 week visit. According to Dr Perlman, Lillian is a perfect 'text-book baby'. Lillian is either alert and looking around or she is eating or she is sleeping - she doesn't cry very often. Even when Lillian got her Hep B vaccine - a shot in her leg which we deferred from the hospital to her first doctor's visit so she'd be a bit bigger and more able to handle it - she cried for a second but literally before Alan could get her across the tiny room to comfort nurse she'd already stopped crying and was looking around again.

We started a page of Lillian's growth statistics, but below is a summary to date:

October 22, 2013: Birth                           6 pounds 10 ounces
October 25, 2013: Leaving Hospital      6 pounds   2 ounces
October 29, 2013: 1 week well visit       6 pounds   9 ounces
November 5, 2013: 2 week well visit     7 pounds   3 ounces

Dr. Meryl Perlman joined Lakeview Pediatrics in 2006. She received her undergraduate education at Harvard University. She completed medical school at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine, and afterwards, her residency and chief residency in pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to being board certified in pediatrics, her interests include gastroenterology.

She looks so innocent...

Last night she was up most of the night. She peed and pooped all over daddy, who kindly takes diaper duty while I prep for nursing, and then just after feeding her around 4 am Alan was going to burp her and I was just climbing into bed when I heard a splash. It sounded like someone threw a glass of water on the ground. But I found out it was this tiny, innocent bundle who spit up what must have been a cup of milk on daddy and I had heard it splash on the ground. Daddy was standing in a puddle when I got to them. Not funny then, but funny now. Though maybe I'm just giddy from the lack of sleep.

Halloween Day

On Halloween day Jenn and Simon went to Baby Bulldogs at St. Andrew's Gym (Jenn posted pictures). Then they came back, played some legos (video below), and Simon visited with Gaga and Papa Basque. It was raining all day so we didn't take Simon out trick or treating, but there were quite a few kids that came to the door while we were eating dinner. Every time the door rang Simon jumped out of his seat and ran to the door to answer it with Alan. I think he had more fun doing that than he would have actually trick or treating. Next year I'm sure we'll go rain or shine!

Newborn Photo Session

I have loved the idea of newborn photos and managed to set some up for Lillian. She was awesome about the whole thing, posing nicely and being calm and sleepy. She wasn't up for lying on her belly, which made some of the photos I was hoping to get impossible, but the ones we got are super adorable.

And some behind the scenes with the two ladies - the photographer and the person who was posing Lillian's hands.

...taking the picture!

Here is the picture!
So many great pictures after the jump...
