Made scrambled eggs

This morning Simon made scrambled eggs. He cracked the eggs, put them in the bowl, then stirred and added cheese. I cooked them for him but he even served them to himself - both firsts and seconds. I think it's the first time the toast has ever gotten second billing. He was so proud! 

Worldwide Leader in Sports

Simon isn't all about reading and the arts... he's also a future three sport athlete.  In the past couple of weeks he's learned basketball (he can reverse jam on his little toddler hoop), baseball (he can hit and pitch), and football (with a little toy ball).

Chalk fun

Alan was painting the back steps this morning and evening so we went out front during the heat of the day and had some chalk time. Simon is sporting his birthday present outfit from Grandparents Sweeney and the shirt is already too short on him! Happily these shorts are one of the few pairs we have that fit him. This boy is long and lean!  In the last few pictures you can see that we were practicing shapes. (Stand inside the circle, etc)

Breakfast and trains

We had yogurt and bananas for breakfast today and Simon was very focused on getting a little banana in every bite. I laughed a lot and thought you might too - look at those faces he is making! Also, he is sporting a new bib from the spring 2013 Auntie Amy Collection. 

After eating breakfast we went to play with the trains and my foot was itchy. Simon kindly came over to scratch it for me. 

Carrots and yogurt for dinner

For some reason Simon didn't like the beef stew I gave him a couple weeks ago, which he normally loves. He said he didn't want it when I suggested it, but since it was the last day it would be good I made it anyway hoping he'd change his mind. Though he told me he didn't want it as I buckled him in, he had a couple bites when I asked him to. However even after his bites he was solidly against it and asked for yogurt instead. He was so polite about it all that I figured yogurt was fair. So I put away the stew and give him some yogurt and carrots. He oddly chose to dip the carrots in the yogurt, but he ate a bunch and was happy.

New Train Set

Jenn got Simon a starter train track set and Simon spent the whole day on Tuesday playing with it. These pictures are from early yesterday morning before I headed out to work. I was amazed at how long my little guy looks! These are new, super adorable PJs I got for him since he has almost no light weight ones for summer. They are 24 months and already a little short.

Farmers market

A couple weeks ago Joe, Colleen, Joe's brother and Joe's brother's girlfriend, Colleen, Simon and I went to the park early in the morning and then to the Farmer's Market near Colleen's house. We had a great time and I bought 5 pounds of frozen blueberries. Pictures at the end are of Simon eating them.
