Boys Weekend

While Emily and Auntie Colleen were off in New York for the weekend, Simon and I got to hang out just the two of us for a few days.  There was lots of drinking from bottles, babbling, throwing food on the ground and playing with light switches... plus whatever Simon wanted to do.

Jelly Cat's Arrival

Last night I came home to a UPS package on the counter for Simon! It was a Thanksgiving present from his Great Aunt Kathy. We waited until this morning to unwrap it and I got the whole thing in the video below. It was the cutest unwrapping I've ever seen. When he got his last present he wasn't exactly sure what to do with it, but this time he knew exactly what was supposed to happen. When he got to the present he LOVED it. I had to take about 15 pictures before I got one not totally blurry because he was hugging and kissing and playing with the little cat so much.  Thank you Aunt Kathy! Great gift!

Jenn's One Year Anniversary

We were so lucky to have found the perfect addition to our family in Jenn. In the past year she has helped Simon grow from a sleepy infant into a sweet, smart little boy. We are grateful every time we leave to know that Jenn is capable of handling anything that a small boy can throw at her (literally and figuratively) and always manages to be patient, loving, and have fun at the same time.

Celebrating one year with Simon!!

Today is my one year with the amazing Basque family and Simon and I decided to celebrate by going to breakfast at Wishbone, refusing a nap (too excited!!), and a trip to the museum of science and industry. Here are some photos from the day and the baby Simon photo is the first photo I ever took of him :) I love this family and this year has been such a wonderful year!! Simon can make a ton of animal sounds and here are the ones associated with the blocks. I love that he moos for the Moose. And sometimes he holds his nose for the skunk and says PU!
